How to remove Scan with Windows Defender from the context menu in Windows 10

We’ve shared How to disable Windows Defender in Windows 10 but also warned that stop Windows Defender your computer will not protect against viruses, spyware and other types of malicious.


Scan with Windows Defender option menu can make annoying

So if you want to keep Windows Defender running, but hate to see option “Scan with Windows Defender” when right-click on any file or folder or just feel annoying or unnecessary, let remove it by doing as following simple steps:

  • Press Windows + R to open the run command
  • Type regedit then click OK
  • In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {09A47860-11B0-4DA5-AFA5-26D86198A780}
  • Right-click on this key, select Delete


Re-open Windows Explorer, right-click on any File or Folder to see the change.
